Lifetime Tea specializes in custom blending and private label packaging of premium organic teas and herbs. We are looking for a Tea Machine Operator to help support our continued growth.
We are seeking a tea machine operator who is familiar with operating equipment that involves many moving parts. Our high-speed tea machine requires someone with attention to detail and capability to learn the process of operating our machine.
This position is designed for someone seeking a part time position with full time pay.
Compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and will range from $20.00 to $25.00 hr. We offer monthly and quarterly performance bonuses that can bring the total hourly compensation to over $30.00 hr.
Available shift – Monday through Friday 6:30am – 12:30pm or 12:30pm – 6:30pm
Our ideal candidate will have a history of operating packaging machinery (tea machinery would be a plus). Adhere to food safety objectives and work to uphold Lifetime Tea's food safety and quality system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Adhere to company work rules, policies and safety regulations.
- Set up and operate machine according to training instructions.
- Make minor adjustments and calibrations on the machine when needed.
- Replenishes machine operating supplies such as tea, thread, tags, filter paper, blades and glue when necessary.
- Properly records downtime log and production activities during the shift.
- Assists co-workers with various tasks when necessary.
- Assists in general clean-up of machine and work area during and at the end of each shift.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and speak and listen well. The employee is occasionally required to walk, kneel, and have a good sense of taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
