Summary
Under close supervision, servesas team memberto managedaily constructionactivitiesof assigned projects and safelycompletesactivities within scheduleand budget limitsestablished by Construction Manager.
Responsibilities
Assists in developing, reviewing and maintainingschedules,health and safety plans,environmentalsafety plans and financialreportsfor construction projects in collaboration with more senior Construction Managers, and superintendents. Assists in assuringconstructabilityconcernsareaddressed.
Assists Construction Leadership in coordinating with theconstructionmanager,superintendent and community representative ona regular basis to assurethatthescopeofwork is followedandthat all materials, equipment and personnel needs are met in order to complete the project on schedule and budget. Assists in managing the daily construction activities of assigned projects.
Reviews projectdesigns, and assists constructionmanagers with fieldconstructionpractices,materialand equipment needs. Assists in Completing detailed material takeoffs from design drawings to determine thecostandtype of materialsneeded.Determinesprojectfundavailability.
Assists in tracking and monitoring materials that are shipped to constructionsites.Collaborates with material suppliers, freight companies,small purchasing and contracting departmentstoassure that materialsandequipmentareorderedanddelivered in atimelymanner and in workingcondition.
Reviews, processesandtracksproject invoices andpersonneltimesheets.Participates inintermittentand final inspections onconstructionprojectstoassurecompliance with specifications.Conductscompletionassessmentofproject and qualitycontrolinspections. Completesprogress and financial reports ofproject during constructionphase.
References drawings,designmanuals,regulations,technicalreferencemanuals,constructioncontractsandotherdocuments in performance of jobduties.
Travels to remote construction sites.
Performs other dutiesasassigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
An Associate's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
Minimum Experience Qualification
Non-supervisory - Two (2) years field construction experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
Depending on the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain additional certifications or training in one or more specialty areas.
Preferred Certification Qualification
Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications.
Additional Requirements
Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Must be able to obtain an Alaska Drivers License within six (6) months of hire.
