The Impact You Will Have In This Role
We are seeking a passionate, hands-on technical professional to join Internal Audit's (IAD) Supporting Technology, Reporting, Innovation and Data Enablement (STRIDE) team which has the broad objective of identifying, developing, and managing the use of technology to provide solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit assurance activities. This role will play a pivotal role in driving IAD's innovation, AI initiatives and technological advancement.

Your Primary Responsibilities

  • Support advancement of innovative capabilities in IAD- Research and identify novel data analysis and AI techniques and technologies in service of IAD's business and innovation objectives
  • Suggest and support recommendations to STRIDE management on opportunities to execute innovation pilots
  • Collaborate with STRIDE team members to convert successful pilots into structured service offerings
  • Partner with external parties (e.g. academic institutions) on mutually beneficial projects to explore cutting edge innovation areas
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows, enhancing overall efficiency and capabilities
  • Design and develop ML models to address business challenges
  • In addition to the above, the candidate is expected to support day-to-day efforts when warranted and as needed- Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a concise manner
  • Support the build and maintenance of active analytics tools and applications used to collect, process, and present data across the department for use in audit testing
  • Develop routine data validation checks to increase accuracy and integrity of data and output produced
  • Design and execute data extract routines to support audit work
  • Create and maintain documentation of all work products
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to obtain data
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytical solutions
  • Support the development and organic growth of data practitioners within IAD through formally delivered learning opportunities (e.g. teach-backs, lunch & learns, roadshows, etc.)

NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience, with concentration in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Data Analysis, Data Science, AI/ML principles and technologies
  • Familiarity with hyperscaler platforms for data science (e.g. AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Experience in data cleansing and preparation methods and technologies for ETL and analysis (e.g. Talend, KNIME, Alteryx, Informatica, Power BI, SIGMA Computing)
  • Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Big Data and AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LangGraph)
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date on emerging technologies and advanced analytics/AI/ML research
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of working with and manipulating a variety of data types (e.g. structured, unstructured, hierarchical) from a variety of sources (e.g. relational databases, system logs, SharePoint) to produce meaningful analyses
  • Communicate findings from data and research, including complex technical concepts, to non-technical individuals at all levels in a clear and concise manner
  • Focus on project management and the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities while keeping customers informed and escalating roadblocks timely
  • Comfortable performing with limited oversight to explore new opportunities
  • Experience in Internal Audit, first- or second-line risk functions, financial services, and/or Big 4 Accounting is a plus
