Summary
The Design Engineer II will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions, creating technical drawings and documentation, and supporting the product development process from concept to production. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet performance, quality, safety, and cost requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine product designs using appropriate design tools and software
  • Create and maintain technical drawings, models, and documentation
  • Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality to ensure design feasibility and functionality
  • Participate in the design and development of new products or the improvement of existing ones
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and specifications
  • Identify and resolve design-related issues during development and production phases
  • Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement efforts

Positional Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Good understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in a design or product development role
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, prototyping, or testing methods
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards or certifications
  • Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
  • Experience in a design or product development role
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, prototyping, or testing methods
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards or certifications
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

Essential Physical Functions

  • Travel: less than 10%
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Bending, stooping, walking
