We are looking for a full-time Patient Access Coordinator to join our team in our facility located in Lithia, Fl.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge: Must have knowledge of the mission, vision, values, and commitments of the Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay. Knowledge of the following is required: Principles of customer service, clerical procedures, obtaining referrals, medical ethics, medical record administration, appointment booking, guidelines for release of medical information, and applicable information systems.

Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Associate degree or completion of Medical Admin Program preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in medical referral processing and insurance verification preferred.

Training: Must complete OMG orientation and training to include on the job training, compliance, and customer service awareness. Must attend required quarterly meetings with peers and leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing, updating, inputting, and coordinating medical information by completing the required data entry to electronic medical records.
  • Responsible for verifying insurance requirements and ensuring required documentation is available prior to scheduling appointments.
  • Creating new patient registration by entering patient demographics ensuring accuracy of data into EMR, while avoiding creation of duplicate accounts.
  • Assist Patient Access Team by acting as a float to cover IVT, CAU and Referrals as needed.
  • Verifying error log entries for all Patient Access Team.
  • Assist Patient Access Team members and organization with processes, to include monitoring Outlook/Teams, and responding to Teams questions.
  • Responding to patients and forwarding information to appropriate team members within the billing department.
  • Assisting with web encounters and escalated calls.
  • Monitor the following platforms: Leading Reach, insurance updates, I-Naira and Zocdoc.
  • Manage Healow and referral tracking daily.
  • Assisting with Metro-Inclusive, Fast Track, and VIP scheduling as needed.
  • Checking actions and provider flow on a monthly basis.
  • Check voicemails routinely for both IVT and Referrals.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Ability to work a flexible schedule.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm but may vary. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.
