Role Overview

The Business Development Director (1099 contractor) will lead client acquisition, and relationship management for 1849 Advisors. This independent contractor role is responsible for identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth while representing the firm's values of integrity, innovation, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the firm's client base.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, entrepreneurs, and decision‑makers.
• Identify opportunities for consulting engagements, including project‑based advisory and fractional CFO services.
• Collaborate with consulting teams to align client needs with service offerings.
• Represent 1849 Advisors at industry events, networking forums, and community initiatives.
• Track and report on business development metrics, pipeline activity, and revenue growth.
• Contribute to marketing and branding efforts to strengthen the firm's market presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in business development, consulting, or professional services.
• Ability to generate new business and manage client relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for strategic growth and community impact.

Contractor Details & Compensation

• This is a
  1099 independent contractor position

  , tied directly to a
  split of each hour billed to clients from the accounts you obtain

• Contractor is responsible for managing their own taxes, benefits, and business expenses.
