Direct Support Professional

Job Summary

AIM Supports is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Kay Place 24-hour group home team in Clatskanie, Oregon. We currently have part time and full time options for graveyard shifts, supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

DSPs play a vital role in ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of the individuals we support while promoting independence and meaningful daily living. The ideal candidate is caring, reliable, and committed to person-centered support.

Scheduling Expectations

This position is primarily scheduled for graveyard shifts. However, all DSP staff may be scheduled for shifts outside of their primary assignment based on program needs. AIM Supports works diligently to provide consistent and predictable schedules whenever possible and values clear communication and stability for our team.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
• Administer medications and support medication management in accordance with physician orders, agency policy, and ODDS requirements
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills, including light housekeeping, by modeling and encouraging participation
• Encourage independence through meaningful, skill-building activities
• Support community integration through social activities, appointments, and outings
• Implement individualized support plans while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Complete daily shift notes documenting services provided, progress, and goals
• Monitor and report changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to supervisors

Graveyard Shift-Specific Responsibilities:
During overnight hours, individuals typically sleep for the majority of the shift. Primary responsibilities often include completing routine sleep checks, maintaining a safe and secure environment, and performing deep cleaning, laundry and household organization tasks to support the overall operation of the home. Staff must remain attentive and available at all times, as individual needs may arise unexpectedly. All DSPs are expected to provide full client support whenever individuals are awake or require assistance, regardless of shift.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, but not required
• Must pass all ODDS-required background checks and required all ODDS-required trainings (training provided by AIM)
• Ability to follow individualized support plans and work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals, families, and coworkers
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and current auto insurance (must be maintained). For graveyard positions, this requirement may be waived based on program needs and management approval.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training provided by AIM if needed)

Pay: From $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
