Reports To: Assistant Superintendent Partnerships and Charter Schools
Primary Purpose:
The Site Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management of the school. This includes short and long-term planning; budgeting, scheduling, and promoting the school; hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating all school staff; evaluating teachers, utilizing the state-mandated PDAs; supervising the curriculum and instruction of all programs. The Site Manager is also responsible for creating and maintaining a positive relationship with the Assistant Superintendent and Upbring Head Start Staff. They are responsible for the implementation of all federal and state regulations concerning both general and special education.
Essential Duties & Qualifications
- Directly supervises teaching staff and center staff, working closely and in collaboration with Assistant Superintendent of Partnerships and Charter Schools and Upbring Head Start Staff towards program success
- Conduct daily classroom walk throughs and observations, review instructional materials, and collaborate with staff to create engaging, research-based learning spaces.
- Analyze CLASS observations, child assessment data, and program performance metrics to drive continuous quality improvement and meet school readiness goals.
- Enforce child safety policies, ensure positive behavior support strategies, and fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities for child abuse and neglect.
- Staff must not use/impose corporal punishment or other forms of child maltreatment as a method to discipline children
- Comply with the company code of conduct and other applicable regulations and requirements, including Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), Texas Charter School Regulations, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Fulfill role as mandated reporter as stated in Child Abuse and Neglect Policy
- Attend and help host all professional development and in-service trainings for center staff
- Guide Education Coaches and teachers in implementing research-based early childhood curricula, supporting individualized instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including children with disabilities and dual-language learners.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related field
- At least 3 years of experience in early childhood education, preferably in a Head Start or similar program.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory, coaching, or leadership experience.
- Experience with school readiness goals, curriculum implementation, and child assessment tools
- Knowledge of inclusive practices for children with disabilities and dual-language learners.
- Willingness to obtain CLASS certification within 6 months of hire and T-TESS certification within 1 year of hire.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- CPR/First Aid Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related field
- Texas Principal Certification or willing to obtain within 2 years of hire
- 5 or more years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 3 years in a leadership, coaching, or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS)
- Experience with inclusion of children with disabilities
- CLASS and T-TESS certification
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) with the ability to fluently converse and write in Spanish (based on student population and service area), highly preferred

- Strong stress management, time management and organizational skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and projects and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication, including preparation of quality well written documents, reports, and correspondence
- Ability to work independently and within a team; ability to take initiative with limited supervision
- Strong computer skills; high proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
