Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dependable Preschool Teacher to lead a classroom of young learners through age-appropriate curriculum, enriching activities, and daily routines that support school readiness. This role is ideal for an educator who is energetic, patient, organized, and committed to making a meaningful impact in early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement daily lesson plans aligned with age-appropriate learning standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and structured classroom environment
- Build strong, positive relationships with children and families
- Conduct daily learning activities including circle time, art, music, literacy, and outdoor play
- Observe and document child development and progress
- Maintain proper classroom ratios and adhere to state licensing regulations
- Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior guidance
- Communicate effectively with leadership and families
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework, CDA, or degree preferred
- Previous preschool or childcare experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of child development and early learning standards
- Ability to pass required background checks
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
Pay Structure & Raises
- Starting pay is based on experience
- $0.25 increase after 3 months
- Additional $0.25 increase at 6 months
- Increase up to $1.00 at 1 year
Performance, attendance, and adherence to Wild Oak Academy standards are required to qualify for scheduled raises.Benefits (if applicable – customize as needed)

Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with developmental standards and curriculum goals, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development, behavior management, and inclusive learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess individual student progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing when appropriate.
- Foster effective communication with children to support language development and early intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress, behavioral concerns, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and lesson plans in compliance with licensing requirements.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times to promote child welfare within the classroom environment.
- Incorporate special education techniques when necessary to support children with additional needs or disabilities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with childhood development trends, curriculum innovations, and classroom management techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management strategies, and early intervention practices.
- Familiarity with curriculum development across subjects such as literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field is required; additional experience with special education or tutoring is advantageous.
- Experience working with students who have diverse needs including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
