Responsibilities

• Design and deliver comprehensive science lessons across multiple disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans aligned with educational standards and student needs.
• Utilize learning technology and instructional design techniques to enhance classroom engagement and understanding.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects to provide hands-on scientific experience.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment conducive to student success.
• Prepare students for standardized testing through targeted practice and review sessions.
• Provide academic advising, mentoring, and support for students' individual learning paths.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school initiatives, and extracurricular activities related to science education.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and lesson plans with attention to detail such as proofreading materials for clarity and accuracy.
• Engage in professional development opportunities related to higher education teaching, special education, Montessori methods, or other specialized instructional strategies.

Experience

• Proven experience working with students in classroom settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in scientific research laboratory work, including microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology, and dissection techniques.
• Strong background in mathematics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, and their application within science curricula.
• Experience integrating learning technology into lesson planning and classroom instruction.
• Familiarity with curriculum development for various grade levels and ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners.
• Prior experience with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods to support student achievement.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, mentoring students, and engaging parents or guardians as needed. • High School certified science teacher in Ohio for grade 9
