Here's What All The Hype Is About…
BellRing Brands, Inc. (NYSE: BRBR) is a $2 billion (revenue) publicly traded holding company and a rapidly growing leader in the global convenient nutrition category offering ready-to-drink shake and powder protein products. Our subsidiary, Premier Nutrition Company (PNC), sells the brands Premier Protein, Dymatize, and PowerBar, which is sold internationally.
BellRing Brands has a simple, yet powerful, formula for its success, which we've been nailing since we went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2019. We are super-intentional about designing a people-centric culture where everyone feels like they truly connect and belong. We have found that our purpose-driven, connected employees who are consistently mastering new skills and flourishing will deliver amazing business results. And winning companies with amazing people and thriving cultures attract and retain top talent, which means the cycle becomes self-reinforcing or what we call our regenerative culture.
We don't mind sharing our secret formula since we think the world would be a better place if more workplaces treated adults like adults and gave them the platform to do the best work of their lives—alongside some truly amazing teammates. Why don't more companies do this? Well, it takes deep-in-your-bones conviction to your people, products, and purpose to pull it off. It also takes resisting the urge to try to control people and instead trusting them to make the right decisions and by keeping time-consuming processes and rules to a minimum. Our rewards and success focus more on the We than the Me to avoid the silos that often characterize companies of our size; and we find that assuming positive intent and focusing on our shared purpose of building great brands and a great company is why people love working for us and we get so many workplace awards
year after year.
We have a long list of ways we take care of our people, but here are some crowd-pleasers that our teammates often say they love most: Year-round ½ day Fridays, 6% 401k match after 1 year, all positions bonus-eligible, Costco or Sam's membership reimbursement, monthly phone and internet reimbursements, on-site gym access, generous paid family leave regardless of gender, company-wide volunteer days, company-matched charitable donations, no employee handbook, no dress code, and coaching conversations instead of performance reviews.
BellRing Brands seeks individuals who will flourish in this type of work environment and will add to our culture and help build this high-growth company for the next phase in our amazing journey. Does this sound like you? Then read on…
The role you're interested in…
If you would enjoy a highly varied workday with a mixture of intense conversations, solving complex problems, working directly with BellRing's CFO, and a chance to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels and throughout the C suite, this might just be the job you always deserved but has eluded you…until now. The Sr. Manager / Associate Director will be an integral member of the accounting/finance team. Initially the tax department will be set up as an "outsourcing" arrangement with a third-party-provider for major workstreams such as the global provision and income tax compliance. In this role you will work closely with the third-party tax team and the rest of the organization to ensure complete, accurate, timely and quality tax reporting as well as tax planning. The Sr. Manager / Associate Director will report directly to the Sr. Director of Financial Reporting and will lead the members of the third-party tax service provider while working closely with the corporate accounting team, financial reporting team, and the business units.
The primary goal is to oversee the tax provision processes, manage compliance for federal, state, and foreign taxes (Canadian experience preferred), and coordinate with third-party service providers. The role requires strong knowledge of federal and state corporate income tax laws, effective communication, leadership skills, analytical skills, problem solving, and the ability to implement process improvements. Experience with public company tax provisions and a well-rounded tax skill set are essential. This position will have a hands-on role without any direct reports at the time of on boarding and will serve largely as the tax leader and liaison between the company and its third-party tax service provider. Opportunities for building out a team internally and migrating some services in-house may arise at a later date.
The work environment…
So, what's it like to work here? If you're based in the greater St. Louis area, you'll walk into our new, modern Clayton, Missouri headquarters each Tuesday morning and start the in-person portion of our hybrid work week at our weekly all-company meeting live-streamed along with our colleagues at our flagship subsidiary, Premier Nutrition Company, which is headquartered in Emeryville, California. During that time, we watch one of our newer teammates tell their personal life and career journey followed by short updates on any hot topics that might be relevant to the week ahead such as product news, culture events, and ringing the bell (i.e., things to celebrate).
We are a true hybrid workplace with aligned days in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. What this means in practice is you will have more flexibility and time to do focused work at the beginning and end of the workweek, and the middle portion will be filled with connecting in person for things like innovation, impromptu collaboration, having respectful challenges to get to better decisions, leadership role-modeling, and culture building. Great work cultures are built on the stories about what great looks like in practice, and, if you think about it, no one ever told a great culture-building story about something that happened off-camera on a Zoom or Teams meeting.
