Their state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot facility in Union County, NJ features sophisticated filling lines, secure warehousing, and advanced inventory control systems.
This is a direct hire, permanent position with our client company.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fragrance Production Line Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. This critical role will ensure our production lines operate at peak efficiency, maintaining the high-quality standards our luxury fragrance clients expect. You'll work hands-on with advanced filling equipment, automated systems, and packaging machinery in a fast-paced, precision-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Perform preventive maintenance on fragrance filling lines, crimpers, collar presses, and labeling equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems on production equipment
Diagnose equipment malfunctions quickly to minimize production downtime
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and service records
Production Support
Conduct machine changeovers and setups for different fragrance packaging sizes (miniatures to full retail)
Adjust and calibrate filling equipment to meet precise specifications
Support gift set assembly line operations
Ensure all equipment meets quality control standards and regulatory requirements
Technical Operations
Install, modify, and upgrade production line equipment and components
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Work with cello wrap, shrink wrap, and various labeling systems (bottom, front, back, inkjet)
Collaborate with production team to optimize line efficiency and output
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Ensure equipment compliance with industry standards and regulations
Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives
Handle fragrance materials safely and in accordance with company procedures
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Technical/Trade school certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of experience maintaining production line equipment in manufacturing environment
Experience in cosmetics, fragrance, pharmaceutical, or food/beverage filling operations strongly preferred
Technical Skills
Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and automated filling lines
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Welding and fabrication skills a plus
Essential Competencies
Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills to coordinate with production staff
Flexibility to respond to urgent equipment needs
Basic computer skills for documentation and system interface
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
Capable of working with hand and power tools
Able to work in production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Fine motor skills for precision adjustments and small component work

Schedule
Full-time position
Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Friday, 6:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Overtime available during peak production periods
Minimal weekend work required
