Job Duties and Responsibilities- Restaurant Management: You will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including daily service, staff scheduling, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will make key decisions regarding service flow, staff allocation, and addressing guest concerns promptly and effectively.
- Staff Supervision: You will directly supervise a team of restaurant staff, providing guidance, training, and support. This includes hiring, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance issues. You will ensure staff adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Inventory Management: You will manage restaurant inventory, tracking stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. You will make decisions regarding purchasing to ensure efficient inventory control.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: You will maintain the highest standards of food safety and sanitation, complying with all relevant regulations and company policies. You will be responsible for ensuring proper food handling, storage, and preparation.
- Customer Service: You will consistently provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction and resolving any complaints effectively. You will actively seek guest feedback to improve service.
- POS Systems (Point of Sale): You will be proficient in using POS systems to process orders, manage payments, and generate reports. You will train staff on the proper use of these systems.
- Scheduling and Staff Rostering: You will create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts. You will make decisions based on anticipated customer volume and staff availability.
- Conflict Resolution: You will effectively resolve conflicts between staff members or between staff and guests, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Team Leadership: You will motivate and inspire your team, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. You will lead by example, demonstrating strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Training and Development (employees): You will develop and deliver training programs for restaurant staff, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or similar high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to manage staff effectively.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in using POS systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
- Experience with inventory management software.
- Formal training in restaurant management or hospitality.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Previous experience as a hotel restaurant supervisor is preferred.
Ability to stand on your feet for the whole shift and lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
