Hiring Manager Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Employment Status: Full-time Regular

Job Summary

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all nighttime construction activities on assigned projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with quality standards and client specifications. The position requires frequent travel and extended stays at project sites.

Education and Experience
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalence (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction supervision; experience with retail projects preferred.
  • Certified in OSHA 30
Knowledge

Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.

Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of Procore and other PM tools.

Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Skills
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and building codes.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work overnight shifts.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Context
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
  • Work is performed most frequently outdoors in weather conditions that vary from freezing temperatures to heat above 90 degrees, in wet and dry conditions.
  • Work may be performed in confined spaces.
  • Some exposure to odors, gases, dust and dirt may occur.
  • The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
  • Lifting and carrying 10 up to 60 pounds frequently is required.
  • Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Reaching and lifting overhead is frequent.
  • Standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and reaching a majority of the time.
  • Work may include manual labor up to and including hand digging.
  • Some Saturday work is required. Sundays are rarely needed.
Primary Job Duties
  • Supervise and coordinate all construction operations, including subcontractors and field staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
  • Monitor project progress, maintain schedules, and report daily activities to the Project Manager.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to plans.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel, including subcontractors, comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Resolve onsite issues promptly to avoid delays or safety hazards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including logs, reports, and expense submissions.
  • Communicate effectively with other superintendents and project leadership to ensure continuity.
  • Enforce company standards for housing and travel arrangements when applicable.
  • Travel between Dallas HQ and project sites for both shortterm and longterm assignments to conduct site visits, verify progress, and coordinate with field teams.
