About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Analyst II to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our data-driven decision-making processes by analyzing complex datasets, developing insightful reports, and creating compelling visualizations. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in data analysis, with proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, and a strong understanding of SQL and relational databases. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, product managers, and business leaders, to deliver actionable insights that inform strategic initiatives. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in Houston, TX, with options for remote work, providing flexibility to balance professional and personal commitments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query
- Experience with Power BI Report Builder
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms, primarily Microsoft Fabric
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-team engagement
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and automation
- Knowledge of ETL tools and frameworks
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and tools
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or AWS Certified Data Analytics
Responsibilities
- Gather and interpret customer requirements to tailor analytical support and reporting solutions
- Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with data engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and seamless integration from multiple sources
- Create visually engaging and informative data visualizations to facilitate understanding of complex datasets
- Ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of data throughout all analysis and reporting activities
- Engage with stakeholders, product managers, and department leaders to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights
- Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in data analysis and visualization to continuously improve processes
