Our client is a nationally recognized manufacturer of specialized materials, supplying high-quality products for use in ceramics, refractories, glass, and other industrial applications. They are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design, improvement, and implementation of mechanical systems in an industrial setting. This role involves leading capital projects, creating and maintaining CAD designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive performance, efficiency, and reliability across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components and systems using 2D/3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Develop, apply, and maintain engineering calculations and accurate bills of materials (BOMs) to support mechanical design and production.
  • Lead large-scale capital projects (>$1M) from concept through implementation with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to improve system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for mechanical systems, equipment, and production processes.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing plant equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate, select, and coordinate the purchase and installation of new mechanical systems.
  • Regularly update CAD designs and documentation to reflect changes in components and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2–4 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (preferred)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, mass formulas, and production processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large capital projects (>$1M) from start to finish
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with vendors, contractors, and internal teams
