Senior Full-Stack/Ecommerce Engineer

Role Overview

As the
Senior Full-Stack eCommerce Engineer
, you will be responsible for developing new features, optimizing system performance, and improving the architecture that powers the company's ecommerce experience. You'll work across both the front-end and back-end - owning the customer-facing storefront and the supporting services that drive it.

While the current platform is Shopify, the team welcomes candidates whose expertise lies in
other ecommerce ecosystems
, as long as you have demonstrated success building scalable, performant solutions end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize ecommerce features across the full stack
• Lead front-end development using modern JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and component-based frameworks (React preferred)
• Integrate with ecommerce APIs (Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or similar)
• Enhance and maintain middleware services running on GCP
• Own platform performance, accessibility, and web best practices
• Collaborate with engineering, design, product, and marketing teams to align technical solutions with business goals
• Support experimentation (A/B testing), CRO efforts, and analytics accuracy (GTM + server-side tagging)
• Coordinate with external development partners to ensure quality, stability, and reliable deployments
• Contribute to architectural decisions including future headless or composable commerce exploration

Upcoming Projects May Include

• Refactoring and modernizing the ecommerce front-end
• Optimizing middleware for scale and speed
• Performance tuning across the entire shopping funnel
• Evaluating/implementing a headless React/TypeScript architecture
• Enhancing system observability, reliability, and automation

Candidate Profile

You are a senior-level engineer with deep experience delivering
complete ecommerce solutions
on modern platforms - even if not Shopify specifically. You understand how front-end decisions impact conversion, how backend workflows support omnichannel retail, and how to architect systems for scale.

You bring:

• 5+ years of full-stack web development experience
• Ability to design and build end-to-end solutions from the ground up
• Proven experience building and launching ecommerce features or full implementations on
  one or more platforms
  :
  Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, SFCC
  , or similar
• Strong JavaScript skills (front-end + )
• Understanding of
  API design
  , performance optimization, and
  cloud environments (GCP preferred)
• Experience working within a retail or omnichannel ecosystem
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners
• Ownership mentality: you take initiative, solve problems, and raise the engineering bar
