We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive clinical knowledge, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care. This role involves managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert pharmaceutical services to diverse patient populations, including LTC, pediatrics, and acute care. The Pharmacist in Charge will serve as the primary point of contact for pharmacy operations and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to optimize medication management and patient outcomes.
*Duties*
* Supervise daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
* Oversee medication dispensing and managing inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services such as patient assessment, medication therapy management, immunizations, pain management, and medical management consultations.
* Utilize pharmacy software, EMR systems, and EHR systems to document patient care activities accurately.
* Lead efforts in patient service initiatives, including medication administration guidance and patient education on physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
* Manage pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians; provide training on pharmacy procedures and compliance standards.
* Oversee the implementation of policies related to inventory management and medication storage.
* Serve as the liaison with medical providers for medication-related inquiries and medical management strategies.
*Qualifications*
* Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the state of practice.
* Experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care environments, or hospital settings preferred.
* Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience with pediatrics, acute care, pain management, and immunizations.
* Proficiency with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
* Ability to perform patient assessments effectively and provide comprehensive patient care services.
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
* Prior experience supervising pharmacy technicians or other staff members is preferred. This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated pharmacist to lead a dynamic team while delivering exceptional patient-centered pharmaceutical care across diverse healthcare settings.
Pay: $58.38 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
