Salary: $67,000 - $80,000, with additional robust bonus structure

As a Kitchen Manager at Flix Brewhouse, you will have the opportunity to create exceptional experiences for our guests by leading and managing the daily operations of our kitchen. Your responsibilities will include maintaining food quality and appearance, overseeing inventory regulation, and developing the leadership skills of your team. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure guest satisfaction and budget compliance.
To be successful in this role, you should be certified in food handling and alcohol service requirements, such as Serve Safe, and have experience as an AKM or KM. You should be self-motivated, positive, and passionate about your work, with a strong understanding of teamwork and the ability to inspire those around you. You should also be skilled at identifying and fostering the growth of emerging talent within your team. In addition, you should be proficient in computer skills, including inventory management, ordering, and recipe maintenance, and possess excellent English communication skills, both written and oral. It is a plus if you are bilingual and able to converse in Spanish at a sufficient level to instruct ESL Spanish staff members.

Supervisors: General Manager, Director of Food Experience, and Director of HOH Operations & Safety
Licensing Required: Food handling licensing
Job Description: The role of the Kitchen Manager is to oversee operations concerning food quality and appearance. The KM is responsible for managing daily preparation of food items in all stations and ensuring back of house staff is in compliance with all policies and procedures at all times. The Kitchen Manager is the leader of the kitchen supervision team, he/she is responsible for the training, development, performance and ongoing communication of the team.
Job Purpose: To ensure back of house operates successfully, resulting in excellent guest experience. Establish and maintain an environment that fosters good morale among our team members.
Job Qualifications:
- Extensive understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Extensive understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
- Previous AKM or KM experience and professional communication skills required.
- Available to work any shift and all holidays.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
- Ability to coach and develop talent and mentor Assistant KM, Supervisors, and Line Cooks.
- Leadership skills; ability to direct, encourage, commend, and reprimand staff members on a regular basis.
- Good English written and verbal skills are a must.
- Ability to converse in Spanish is strongly encouraged, at least at a level sufficient to instruct and correct ESL Spanish staff members.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Must have problem solving abilities and be self-motivated, organized, and able to multi-task.
- Have a commitment to quality service, and food knowledge.
- Computer skills and literacy that enable the KM to execute all inventory, ordering, and recipe maintenance duties necessary for the running of the kitchen per Flix SOPs
- Serve Safe certified within 6 months or less of becoming KM, the candidate must attain manager level certification within the Serve Safe system.
- Has a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law with regard to:
- Licensing and Labor Laws
- Health and Safety Regulations
- Food Handling and Hygiene Laws
- Fire Regulations and Procedures
- First Aid Procedures
Job Tasks:
- Expected to work a minimum of 50 hour work weeks
- Follows written and/or verbal instructions by Director of Food Experience.
- Follow training curriculum in place for TM/Sup development.
- Works closely with the General Manager in maintaining budgetary guidelines
- Fully versed in ordering, receiving and recipe maintenance using ordering and inventory systems
- Professionally communicates with G.M., Director of Food Experience, management team and cinema staff.
- Relays opportunities to the GM and Director of Food Experience for enhancement possibilities.
- Ensures that all food is prepared according to food handler's guidelines and Flix Recipes.
- Manages cooking procedures and operates kitchen equipment.
- Maintains working equipment and gets faulty equipment repaired properly.
- Manages where and how everything is stored.
- Ensures the labeling and dating of all food, stores and rotates food as needed.
- Ensures opening and closing procedures are being executed to expectation.
- Coaches back of house to keep a clean, stocked, and tidy workspace.
- Works in a fast pace and hot environment.
- Flexible with job duties.
- Displays a pro-active innovative approach to skills development and standards enhancement with your team.
- Able to act with initiative, plans for the future and possible consequences.
- Proactive in getting things done and exceeds expectations of both guests and co-workers.
- Sets a good example of the company dress code and appearance standards ensuring that your team fully complies with these.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to speak and hear.
- Close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift/move 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to heat/cold from the mechanical equipment.
Moderate to loud noise level.
