Role Overview
The Sales Estimator partners closely with the Sales team to develop accurate project scopes and pricing for sports and live event LED display systems. Projects typically range from $1M–$10M in revenue and include a mix of product, engineering, installation, and service components.
This role requires strong technical curiosity, commercial judgment, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external partners (vendors, installers, electricians, engineers, and venue stakeholders). You'll support opportunity execution from discovery through final proposal and handoff, ensuring estimates are thorough, competitive, and aligned with our margin goals.
Travel is required for site walks, kickoff meetings, and coordination with venue and installation partners.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Proposal Development
- Build detailed project estimates for LED display solutions, including hardware, engineering, installation, freight, commissioning, and service.
- Translate sales inputs, drawings, and site conditions into clear scopes, BOMs, and labor assumptions.
- Produce accurate, timely pricing packages and proposal inputs for Sales.
- Identify cost drivers and risks, and recommend alternatives to maintain competitiveness and margin.
Cross-Functional & Field Collaboration
- Work with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Project Management) to validate scope and assumptions.
- Coordinate with external partners such as vendors, installers, electricians, structural engineers, general contractors, and AV integrators.
- Participate in site surveys, pre-bid meetings, and customer walkthroughs as needed.
- Ensure clean handoff of final scope and assumptions to project execution teams.
Vendor & Cost Management
- Request and evaluate vendor quotes; maintain pricing databases and approved partner lists.
- Track material, labor, and logistics costs to improve estimate accuracy over time.
- Support negotiations with vendors/subcontractors alongside Sales/Operations.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain organized estimating files, templates, and standard scopes.
- Contribute to estimating SOPs and best practices to scale accuracy and speed.
- Post-project review of estimate vs. actuals to refine future bids.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of estimating, project scoping, or technical sales experience in LED displays, AV, electrical, construction, or related industries.
- Ability to price complex, multi-component projects and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating with vendors, installers, electricians, engineers, and contractors.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort building structured estimate models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills—able to translate technical detail into sales-ready inputs.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and project coordination.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience estimating projects in the sports, live events, stadium/arena, or large-venue space.

- Experience with CRM/estimating tools and PM platforms (Asana, Monday, etc.).
- Background working on $1M+ capital/installation projects.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
