If you are searching for a role where you can grow your skills in the software development field, Emerson has an exciting position for you Based in our Austin location, as a Software Engineer you will contribute to the design and development of innovative DeltaV software solutions, work with modern web technologies and configuration databases, and collaborate with experienced engineers to deliver high-quality features that enhance our automation products.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
- Work with a collaborative team to design and implement DeltaV software product enhancements that drive innovation.
- Participate in reviews of product requirements, test designs, and implementations to ensure quality and alignment with customer needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver robust solutions.
- Provide impact analysis for change requests, considering effects on testing, schedules, and overall product integrity.
- Collaborate closely with other software developers to maintain consistency and share best practices.
WHO YOU ARE: You are eager to learn and contribute to a team environment. You ask questions, seek feedback, and share ideas openly. You adapt quickly to new technologies and approaches, balancing curiosity with a focus on delivering results. You enjoy solving problems collaboratively and take pride in writing clean, maintainable code.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
- 0+ years of relevant experience
- Relevant internship experience or academic projects demonstrating software development skills.
Experience with web application technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript) AND/OR Experience with database technologies (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
- Individuals with temporary visas, such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J, or TN, or those who require sponsorship for work authorisation now or in the future, are not eligible for hire. MUST be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming (C#, C++, or similar).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
