We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Orthodontic Receptionist to join our healthcare team, serving as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff. Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage through insurance verification processes, including Medicare and other third-party payers.
  • Schedule appointments ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents correctly and updating patient information within systems like Cloud9.
  • Assist with documentation review, ensuring all medical records are complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support medical billing processes by understanding insurance claim procedures related to dental collection efforts.
  • Manage front desk operations including patient intake, appointment reminders, and handling walk-in inquiries with a friendly demeanor.
  • Perform office management tasks such as filing, data entry, typing (including 10-key typing), and maintaining organized office supplies.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards by adhering to HIPAA guidelines during all interactions involving protected health information (PHI).
  • Utilize computer skills across platforms like Microsoft Office to prepare reports, correspondence, and other administrative documents efficiently.

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred; clinic or dental office experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes including Medicare and private insurance plans.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and compassionately.
  • Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry, typing (including 10-key), and managing multi-line phone systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in documentation review.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
