Salary per year: $115,000 – $160,000 USD Dollar (Higher for exceptional talent)

About the Role

The Senior Transmission Engineer will lead the design of complex transmission line projects, providing technical oversight, advanced engineering expertise, and leadership to multidisciplinary design teams. This individual will be recognized as an industry expert in overhead transmission design and will guide best practices, mentor engineering staff, and support business development.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead transmission design from conceptual engineering through design completion.

* Perform advanced electrical design calculations (EFM, conductor sizing, impedance, induction, voltage drop, losses).

* Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, technical bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations.

* Lead lightning performance studies, grounding calculations, and economic conductor selection studies.

* Determine required electrical clearances per NESC and applicable regulatory codes.

* Interpret and apply NERC, FERC, and regional transmission standards.

* Review vendor drawings; coordinate with suppliers, clients, designers, and other engineering disciplines.

* Participate in schedule creation, scope development, staffing plans, and construction planning.

* Manage change orders effectively.

* Apply expert knowledge of transmission engineering principles, codes, and industry practices.

* Identify non-standard or innovative design solutions.

* Perform QA/QC on engineering deliverables and CAD drawings.

* Support construction administration: field coordination, installation issue resolution, field inspections, testing.

* Lead field measurements, inspections, and calculations.

* Prepare and present technical reports internally and externally.

* Build and maintain relationships with existing clients; support business development and key pursuits.

* Lead proposal development and cost estimates.

* Present project budgets and performance reports.

* Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

* Maintain QA/QC process compliance.

* Ensure effective interdisciplinary communication.

* Comply with company and site safety policies.

* Perform additional duties as assigned.

• 7 years of transmission engineering experience?
• FE Exam completed?

  AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCAD, BIM/Revit?
