About the Role

The LineUp at Wai Kai is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing Accounting team. This role provides high-level accounting and financial operations support to the Director of Accounting and plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial records.

What You'll Do

Accounting Operations & Oversight

  • Oversee and review day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, banking, and payroll coordination
  • Review data migration from POS and booking systems into the accounting system
  • Ensure accurate coding, entries, and reconciliations in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and contribute to their professional development
  • Oversee safe operations and assist with troubleshooting as needed

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and internal financial reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with the Director of Accounting

Systems, Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and requests from external partners or auditors
  • Support accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, including POS and booking system reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with Operations, HR, and leadership teams to support accurate reporting and informed business decisions
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and system implementations as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of AP, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment

Work Environment

  • Schedule flexibility may be required during payroll cycles, month-end close, special events, weekends, or holidays
  • On-site role with prolonged computer use; light physical activity may be required

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Pay: From $82,000.00 per year
