Location: Irving, TX
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Senior Accounts Payable Manager is a transformational leader responsible for building, scaling, and maturing Meriton's enterprise Accounts Payable function across multiple business units within a rapidly expanding multi-billion-dollar organization. This role is accountable for stabilizing a currently immature AP operating model, designing scalable processes, implementing automation, and establishing a centralized, high-performance shared-services structure.

This leader will guide a diverse AP team responsible for vendor invoice processing (manual + OCR/data-driven), vendor onboarding and master data governance, statement reconciliation, disbursements, T&E and employee expense reimbursements, AP close and governance, AP helpdesk operations, and AP technology support. The Senior AP Manager will create and manage SLAs, KPIs, Power BI dashboards, reporting, and standard operating procedures, and will collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, BU Leaders, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Treasury, and IT.

This role is critical to Meriton's growth strategy and must be able to support both organic expansion and ongoing acquisition integration, ensuring the AP function can onboard new entities quickly, consistently, and with strong controls.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, develop, and lead a multi-layered AP shared-services organization from an early-stage maturity level into a high-performing, fully centralized enterprise function.
  • Establish a performance-driven culture with clear expectations, accountability, coaching, and measurable results.
  • Implement organizational structure that supports rapid scaling across multiple new business units, including newly acquired companies.

Process Ownership & Transformation

  • Assess current-state AP processes and design a future-state operating model aligned to a centralized shared-services structure.
  • Standardize and mature invoice intake, PO/non-PO workflows, exception handling, vendor master processes, disbursements, reconciliations, and helpdesk operations.
  • Lead acquisition integration workstreams to incorporate new companies into Meriton's AP model with minimal disruption.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Sales, Operations, Controllers, Procurement, Treasury, and IT to create an end-to-end Procure-to-Pay ecosystem.

Technology, Automation & Reporting

  • Own AP technology strategy, including D365 F&O, ExFlow, OCR/data capture tools, and automation workflows.
  • Develop and deliver Power BI dashboards, SLA and KPI scorecards, exception reporting, and productivity analytics.
  • Use data to drive touchless processing and process optimization.

Invoice Processing & Vendor Management

  • Oversee high-volume vendor invoice processing across automation-enabled and manual channels.
  • Drive accuracy in coding, matching, exception resolution, accruals, and GR/IR management.
  • Oversee vendor relations, vendor escalations, and vendor statement reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and prevent duplicate or missed invoices.

Vendor Onboarding & Master Data Governance

  • Ensure the integrity, compliance, and completeness of vendor master data, including documentation, banking validation, and fraud mitigation.
  • Build scalable vendor onboarding processes that can support new entity integration and high acquisition velocity.
