Executive Chef duties and responsibilities

Courthouse Pub is looking for a head chef position to be filled. We have a very hard working and motivated staff, but we are lacking in our head chef position. We will need someone with leadership skills and who is creative, hard working, organized and has experience with catering.

There are 3 hot line positions to learn and manage. Sautee, Mid, Broil. Sautee handles exactly what you would think. It is a 12 burner station range top. Mid controls the flow, calls out tickets, maintains our 36" flat, makes sandwiches, plates finished entrees, and uses steamer for veg. Broil maintains fryers and our grill/broil, grilling burgers, steaks, chicken, and frying anything needed to be fried.

We do in-house caterings as well as on location caterings. We also hold events in our restaurant which will all need a creative touch once learning our goals and menu

Executive Chefs complete a variety of creative, organizational and leadership tasks to ensure a kitchen runs optimally and patrons' meals are satisfactory. Their responsibilities frequently include, but is not limited to:

  • Developing unique and cuisine-appropriate menus
  • Collaborating with the Owner to set item prices
  • Staying current on developing trends in the restaurant industry
  • Maintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet the company standards and health code regulations
  • Monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendors
  • Hiring, training and supervising all kitchen staff
  • Assisting and directing kitchen staff in meal preparation, creation, plating and delivery
  • Identifying and introducing new culinary techniques
  • Preparing meals and completing prep support as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
