Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook / Lead to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and leadership within a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, overseeing kitchen activities, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The successful candidate will bring culinary expertise, excellent knife skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Hourly pay + Weekly tips.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Lead kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and timely service
- Oversee food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to optimize quality and cost-efficiency
- Supervise food preparation processes, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and best practices
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Manage inventory levels and communicate supply needs to procurement teams
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience in menu planning and meal preparation for various dietary needs
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to oversee kitchen operations effectively
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Background in fine dining or catering is a plus
- Familiarity with dietary aide experience or dietary department operations is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude
