Position Summary
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides high-quality behavioral health services, including psychotherapy, assessments, treatment planning, and care coordination for clients across the lifespan. This role also includes clinical supervision and preceptorship for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) and may involve oversight of students completing practicum or internship hours.
The LCSW ensures all services meet Arizona Department of Health Services (AzDHS), AHCCCS, CARF, and payer-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based modalities.
Develop, review, and update individualized treatment plans.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and insurance requirements.
Coordinate care with internal team members (NPs, therapists, BHTs) and external providers as needed.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
Supervision & Preceptorship Duties
Provide clinical supervision to LMSWs, ensuring compliance with Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) supervision standards.
Review LMSW clinical work, progress notes, assessments, and case documentation.
Conduct structured weekly or bi-weekly supervision sessions (individual and/or group).
Sign off on LMSW supervision hours, forms, and competency evaluations.
Offer mentorship, case consultation, and guidance on ethical decision-making.
Serve as a preceptor for social work students, providing training, observation, and opportunities to build competency.
Support LMSWs and students in developing clinical confidence and professional judgment.
Program & Team Support
Support program development or curriculum initiatives as assigned.
Assist with quality assurance activities, audits, and compliance reviews.
Participate in staff trainings, clinical meetings, and organizational development efforts.
Ensure all services align with agency mission, values, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
Active LCSW license in the State of Arizona (or state where services are provided).
Minimum of 2 years post-licensure experience preferred.
AZBBHE eligibility to supervise LMSWs (documentation required).
Experience in outpatient mental health, substance use, or integrated care settings preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
CPR/First Aid, TB test, fingerprint clearance card (if required).
Preferred Skills
Experience supervising LMSWs or students.
Knowledge of AHCCCS, MCO, and insurance documentation standards.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Experience with crisis intervention and safety planning.
Ability to provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed care.
Work Environment
Outpatient behavioral health clinic or hybrid setting.
May involve telehealth services.
Flexible scheduling available depending on clinic needs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods during sessions or computer documentation.
Ability to perform crisis intervention duties when necessary.
Pay: $ $65.00 per hour
