Maintenance Technician II

We currently own and manage 21 buildings in the downtown area; five of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician II, you'll handle a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to:

• Perform rough and finish carpentry
• Electrical work: replace switches, plugs, fixtures, install outlets and wiring
• Drywall installation, taping, mudding, and texturing
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and boiler systems
• Plumbing repairs and installations (supply and drain lines)
• Appliance troubleshooting and repair
• Install and repair doors, locks, hardware, alarms, and security devices
• Window replacement as needed
• Flooring installation (vinyl sheet, vinyl plank, subflooring, tile)
• Painting and light demo work
• Roof maintenance: gutter/scupper cleaning, tar and patch repairs
• Auger storm and sewer effluent lines
• Move-in and move-out inspections and repairs
• Smoke detector and building inspections
• Dump runs and hauling
• Respond to tenant questions and concerns in a professional, non-disruptive manner
• Follow safe work practices and attend safety meetings
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience (commercial experience preferred)
• Strong skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, carpentry, and general repairs
• Must have own tools
• Ability to use a personal vehicle and mobile device for work purposes
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Team player with a high level of integrity and professionalism
• Valid driver's license
• Valid ID and ability to pass a background check

Physical Demands:

• Consistently lift and carry lbs and up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
• Standing an estimated 90% and sitting an estimated 10% of the time
• Occasional work outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions

Requirement Experience/Qualifications:

• 5+ years maintenance experience
• Commercial maintenance experience preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Well-organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent customer service skills
• Be able to work as an integral member of a team
• Trustworthy with an outstanding reputation of integrity and confidentiality
• Must have valid ID and be able to pass a background check
• A valid driver's license is preferred

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday
• Rotational On-Call status required
