Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and/or feeding evaluations to assess each client's functional and rehabilitative needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving communication, feeding, and daily living skills.
  • Regularly re-evaluate client progress and revise plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor client responses during therapy and adjust interventions as needed; communicate changes with caregivers and relevant team members.
  • Provide caregiver and family education to support carryover and continuity of care.
  • Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress summaries, and discharge reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, including team case reviews, school consultations, and discharge planning.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and maintain professional clinical competency by attending certified CEUs in the areas of pediatrics and speech therapy.
  • Participate in strategic planning, department growth initiatives, and case conferences as needed.
  • Assist in developing and leading in-service training programs and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Remain current on best practices, research, and innovations in pediatric speech-language pathology and feeding therapy.

Qualification and Skill Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current licensure by the State of Texas or eligibility for licensure.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Feeding therapy experience is a plus but not required.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards and a client-centered approach.

Physical Requirements

  • Duties require extensive standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, and/or transferring clients, including the ability to participate in physical and play-based therapies.
  • May be required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
