Title: Maintenance Technician

Summary
VVSD is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of facility systems and equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to respond quickly to maintenance needs to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility issues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and local codes
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition
- Assist with facility upgrades, installations, and improvements as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems preferred but not necessary
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently or with a team with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time / Part-time (as applicable)
- May require on-call availability, weekends, or overtime
