Title: Maintenance Technician    

Department: Facilities

Reports to: Program Director

FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Summary

 VVSD is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of facility systems and equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to respond quickly to maintenance needs to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and machinery
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility issues
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and local codes
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition
• Assist with facility upgrades, installations, and improvements as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems preferred but not necessary
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently or with a team with minimal supervision
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable)

 Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time / Part-time (as applicable)
• May require on-call availability, weekends, or overtime
