Procurement Transformation Lead

Our client, a global leader in technology, is looking for an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their team in the Greater Chicago Area. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your strategic sourcing skills within an organisation that helps to keep communities safe.

Position Overview

As the Procurement Category Manager, you will play a key part in the company's success. You will develop and manage sourcing strategies that secure the best quality, service, and value. Your work will directly support the supply chain for technologies used by public safety agencies and businesses worldwide, making a tangible impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Lead competitive bidding processes and negotiate favourable terms.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to ensure quality.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and process improvements.
• Collaborate with teams to align procurement with company goals.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle to ensure compliance.
• Analyse market data to inform strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, engineering, or business.
• A minimum of 8 years' direct experience in strategic procurement.
• Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
• Technical knowledge in mechanical engineering is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets.
• Based in the Greater Chicago Area for a hybrid role (3 days in office).
• Legal authorisation to work in the U.S. is required.
