Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish presentation and ingredient selection.
- Ensure all food handling and safety procedures are strictly followed to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts to uphold health regulations.
- Support the team during busy service periods by managing multiple orders with speed and accuracy.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal assembly and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
- Participate in catering events or special functions as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supply needs.
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience in a food service environment, ideally within a restaurant or fine dining setting. Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal preparation and dietary restrictions. A strong background in culinary arts or the food industry is preferred, along with excellent knife skills and proficiency in food handling techniques. Previous roles involving food safety compliance, menu planning, catering, or serving will be highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for food preparation, cooking expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
