Über
Ruskin, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence by supporting existing manufacturing processes and leading continuous improvement initiatives at the Lexington facility. The Manufacturing Engineer develops innovative solutions to production challenges involving materials, processes, and tooling, while supporting new product introductions through advanced process design, tooling development, and machinery implementation. Additional responsibilities include establishing robust production controls, overseeing equipment setup and optimization, and ensuring proper operation through comprehensive training for team members.
What You'll Do:
- Designs and develops tools, machinery, and equipment to support efficient manufacturing of company products.
- Redesigns, repairs, and replaces production equipment, control hardware, and tooling to maintain optimal performance.
- Creates and implements processes, methods, and production controls for new products and programs; oversees assembly and validation.
- Leads setup and operation of new equipment and provides employee training for proper usage.
- Authors clear procedures for operating new and existing equipment to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Researches and evaluates emerging manufacturing technologies for potential application.
- Supports quality initiatives as an alternate member of the Quality/MRB team, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Prepares capital expenditure justifications for equipment investments tied to Lexington-based manufacturing improvements.
- Plans and coordinates introduction of new products and processes into the plant.
- Conducts time studies and develops labor standards for new and existing products and processes.
- Maintains knowledge of NCP programs and associated processes.
- Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of CNC programming (preferred but not required).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The role may occasionally involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, and occasional outdoor conditions.
