A Brief Overview:
Provides analytics that support data-driven decision making and the development, tracking and re-porting of access and quality metrics for Community CARE.  Community CARE is a suite of pro-grams at Swedish Hospital that exists to honor the human dignity of all by expanding the reach and definition of healthcare. These programs directly address social drivers of health that may be barriers for patients while aiming to improve health literacy and increase healthcare access. The Data Analyst's role includes gathering, analyzing and reporting on various types of data and communicating results of analysis to program leaders and other stakeholders as well as developing tools that measure outcomes, recommend action and guide decision-making. This position interfaces with colleagues at all levels of the organization as well as liaises with community partners, FQHCs, and consultants. This position will require an understanding of how the application of analytical techniques correlate to business value and will necessitate being able to select the appropriate analytical techniques for the problem at hand.
What you will do:

  • Create analytical tools that allow non-technical leaders to leverage complex data to make program decisions; design and program complex queries against Endeavor Health's proprietary databases that span clinical and financial domains; Create reports for end-users that can either run on demand or automatically.

  • Support data-driven decision making and analysis; Interface with program leaders and stakeholders to translate operational goals into tools that support data driven decision making; Educate and consult with program leaders on how to leverage Endeavor Health's data warehouse to support the operational and analytics needs of the program; Translate abstract operational goals into specific datasets and analysis that answer questions related to the program; Liaises with external partners in order to provide data to measure the im-pact of the Community CARE programs. 

  • Serve as data subject matter expert; Understand what data is available in the organization in the various systems supported by HIT; Answer questions from end-users and other analysts about the data in Endeavor Health's databases that relate to the program. 

  • Prepare regular reports of access and quality metrics, patient volumes, demographics, pay-er mix, social determinants of health etc. for Community CARE programs. 

  • Engage with and receive support, training, mentoring and direction from the Endeavor Health's Data Analytics team.

  • Collaborate with Endeavor Health teams involved with health equity work to develop new tools for applying an equity lens to the metrics that the program tracks and relating them to other system and Swedish health equity metrics.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field.

  • 2 Years of analytics, programming, statistics, or mathematics experience required. Previous healthcare experience preferred.

  • Experience with relational databases, data warehousing, data mining, or related computing environments

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects) or statistical programs (i.e. SPSS, SAS, R)

  • required.

  • Exceptionally strong analytic abilities, with a proven track record of driving insightful findings from quantitative and qualitative data

  • Demonstrated proficiency programming PL/SQL, SAS, R, or other related languages is required.
