Engineering Intern

REPORTS TO: Director of Production Engineering

WORK STATUS: Temporary - Intern

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Lawrence

SUPERVISES OTHERS: No

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS*: No Travel is Expected

• Travel Does Not Refer to Interoffice or Incidental Travel or Errands

• Exempt employees are expected to fulfill the duties of their positions regardless of the hours worked. Non-Exempt employees may be subject to mandatory overtime and/or irregular hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Create and update HorizonPSI standard drawings, routings and 3D drawings
• Convert standard equipment 2D AutoCAD drawings to SolidWorks 3D
• Develop working relationships with fabrication, assembly and engineering departments
• Follow company policies and safety practices as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

• 2 years completed engineering level coursework required – preference given to Seniors or those within 12 months of graduation
• Computer skills including but not limited to:
• AutoCAD
• SolidWorks
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness and accuracy
• High attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

DESIRED/PREFERRED:

• Basic understanding of manufacturing environment
