The role you'll contribute:
Under general direction, responsible for managing the administration, maintenance development and implementation of recovery policies and procedures to ensure organization meets the disaster recovery objectives. Assists technical and clinical teams in the design, creation and maintenance of information technology project plans. Assists test teams in creating test plans and testing efforts. Direct or influence technology planning including cost information for major construction projects to ensure that the infrastructure will support the IT needs. Work with local facilities to ensure that AHS application and infrastructure standards are followed. Create and maintain a master inventory of standard equipment including pricing.

· Thoroughly identify and document technical and business dependencies across the application landscape. Develop comprehensive dependency maps that highlight linkages between applications, databases, infrastructure components, and external services, ensuring accurate impact analyses and prioritization during recovery scenarios.
· Author, review, and maintain detailed disaster recovery plans and procedures for all critical and non-critical systems. Ensure plans provide clear, step-by-step instructions for restoring services, maintaining data integrity, and meeting defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
· Install, configure, and administer DR tools and platforms, including but not limited to Zerto, VMware Live Recovery, and Azure Site Recovery. Automate recovery workflows (e.g. scripting, API integrations) where possible to streamline failover and failback processes.
· Schedule, coordinate, and execute regular DR drills and tabletop exercises for all relevant stakeholders. Validate the effectiveness of recovery plans, tools, and procedures, and document findings to facilitate continuous improvement.
· Maintain documentation of all DR activities, plans, test results, and change management records. Generate insightful, compliance-driven reports (HIPAA, Joint Commission, HITRUST) for executive leadership, regulatory bodies, and auditors as needed.
· Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIA) to prioritize applications based on criticality, considering factors such as user dependency, data sensitivity, and operational impact, and assign them to appropriate recovery tiers.
· Monitor technological trends, emerging threats, and evolving business needs. Proactively propose enhancements to the current DR posture and educate stakeholders about new strategies and tools
· Work closely with peers in the IT Business Continuity/Technology Resilience function to ensure seamless alignment between business and technical recovery strategies.
· This role may require on-site presence or on-call availability during declared disaster events as outlined in Policy CWHR109.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Ensure all DR activities and documentation adhere to healthcare regulations and industry standards such as HIPAA, HITRUST and ISO 22301 guidelines. Participate in internal and external audits as the subject matter expert for DR practices.
· Collaborate closely with application owners, business units, infrastructure teams, security, compliance, and vendors to ensure DR strategies and plans are aligned with evolving organizational goals and technology roadmaps.
· Architect and evolve Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies that align with business continuity requirements, regulatory demands, and best practices specific to the healthcare sector. Analyze current infrastructure to identify gaps and recommend improvements for both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Project planning skills.
· Proficiency in written and oral communication skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
· Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and enthusiastic "can do" attitude.
· Ability to gather, analyze, report and present information.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
· Analytical skills to determine incident & event root cause.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· College degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or 7 years of relevant experience.
· Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in IT systems and network administration.
· Experience supporting Windows operating systems.
· Experience supporting Linux operating systems.
· IT cabling and power concepts & technologies.
· Demonstrated knowledge of building design and construction projects.
· Technical knowledge and experience with related building technologies including security and building controls.
· Technical knowledge and experience with infrastructure technologies including network, voice and end user devices.
· Experience with networking concepts & technologies including LAN/WAN technologies, network equipment, protocols & other communication systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· years of experience in a healthcare information systems management role.
· years operational experience in a hospital setting.
· IT construction related experience.
· Experience with SolarWinds monitoring tools.
· Change management experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
· Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). Extensive and proven experience may be substituted where appropriate.
· Microsoft Certified Professional certifications.
· VMware Certified Professional certifications.
· PMI Certifications.
· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. Extensive and proven experience may be substituted for certification where appropriate.
· BICSI structured cabling certifications.
· Industry recognized certifications in ITIL.
· Industry recognized certifications in IT Systems Administration such as Server & Network.
· A+ certification. Extensive and proven experience may be substituted where appropriate.
· Server+ certification. Extensive and proven experience may be substituted where appropriate.
