Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced **Construction Operations Manager** to oversee daily operations, ensure project efficiency, and drive our growth in the shell contracting sector. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead a team of project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is ideal for a proactive leader passionate about construction excellence and operational optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Manage multiple shell construction projects from pre-construction planning through completion, including scheduling, resource allocation, and subcontractor coordination.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of operations staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Budget & Cost Control: Develop and monitor project budgets, track costs, and implement strategies to minimize variances and maximize profitability.

  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Enforce rigorous quality control measures and lead safety initiatives to maintain OSHA compliance and a zero-incident record.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors; maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and engineers.

  • Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement lean construction practices, technology integrations (e.g., BIM software, project management tools), and best practices to enhance productivity.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare regular reports on project status, KPIs, and performance metrics for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years in construction operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within shell contracting or general contracting.

  • Skills:

  • Proven expertise in project management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud).

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, blueprints, and shell construction techniques.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.

  • Certifications: PMP, LEED, or OSHA 30-Hour preferred.

  • Other: Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites across Southwest Florida (up to 30%).
