Fuego Tortilla Grill is seeking a passionate and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team and ensure the smooth and successful operation of our popular restaurant. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations at Fuego Tortilla Grill. This individual will be a hands-on leader, ensuring that our food is consistently prepared to perfection and that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. The Kitchen Manager will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the front of house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests. We are committed to providing our guests with exceptional service and high-quality food in a fun and lively atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Ensure that all food items are prepared according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards
- Monitor food and supply inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Hire, train, and develop kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Update menu items and specials to keep offerings fresh and exciting
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety standards
- Handle and resolve any guest complaints or issues related to the kitchen
- Collaborate with the front of house team to ensure a seamless flow of service
- Control food and labor costs, working within budgetary guidelines
- Conduct regular kitchen staff meetings to communicate updates and address any concerns
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity
- Accountable to maximize daily sales and effectively manage costs, labor and cash control within budget.
- Oversee staff in all aspects of operations, purchasing, receiving, storing, handling, processing, cooking, packaging, serving, catering and disposing of all food products
- Create and maintain a positive and efficient work environment, while promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, team members and guests
- Collaborate with the General Manager on marketing and promotional initiatives to drive sales and increase brand awareness
- Be a positive and productive member of the community and have a strong presence at local organizations and activities
- Show recognition throughout the team
- Stay updated on industry trends
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a fast-food dining environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and develop team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food safety, sanitation, catering and inventory management
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift min of 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in hospitality or business management is a plus
