Full job description

Macie & Milo's Brew Pup is searching for a skilled Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in operating our upscale food truck. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering consistent food quality, and upholding our high standards for service and hospitality within our energetic, dog-friendly environment. We are specifically looking for a Sous Chef who can grow into a top leadership role

  • our goal is to find the right candidate who can transition

into the Executive Chef position within the first year.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen flow and support the Executive Chef with operational needs

  • Assist in developing and refining recipes and menu offerings
  • Execute dishes with excellent flavor, portioning, and presentation
  • Maintain speed and accuracy during service to meet quality expectations
  • Take charge of kitchen operations as needed when the Executive Chef is unavailable
  • Address challenges quickly with a calm, solutions-focused mindset
  • Support kitchen team members through clear direction and positive communication
  • Participate in inventory control, purchasing, and product organization
  • Uphold sanitation and food safety compliance at all times (including SCDA standards)
  • Represent the kitchen with professionalism and set the tone for a respectful, motivated team

Skills

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or comparable culinary leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to support smooth operations in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent communication and organization skills under pressure
  • Leadership style that is team-oriented, encouraging, and hands-on
  • Familiar with modern kitchen systems (POS, scheduling, inventory, MS Office, etc.)
  • Genuine passion for hospitality — enjoying dogs is a plus O0

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32, $50,000.00 per year

  • 40% share of the full-park tip pool (kitchen team split)
