Location:
Boston, MA (Hybrid – Minimum 3 days/week in-office, 2 remote)

Reports to:
Vice President, Human Resources

Compensation:
$75,000–$90,000 base + approx. 5% annual discretionary bonus

Overview

A well-established financial services firm is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its Human Resources team. This position plays a key role in driving employee engagement, managing the full recruitment lifecycle for salaried positions, and supporting benefits administration across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, a strong grasp of HR fundamentals, and the ability to provide hands-on support across multiple functions while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week in the Boston office.

Core Focus Areas

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding


• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for salaried positions — from drafting and posting job descriptions to screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers.


• Partner with hiring managers to develop effective recruiting strategies and ensure a positive candidate experience.


• Conduct onboarding sessions, new-hire orientations, and ensure completion of employment documentation.

Employee Engagement & Culture


• Lead employee engagement and recognition programs designed to foster connection, motivation, and a positive workplace culture.


• Plan and execute monthly and quarterly in-office and virtual events that promote collaboration and community.


• Manage employee communications, including newsletters, announcements, and recognition initiatives.

Benefits Administration


• Provide knowledgeable support on all aspects of benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, and HSA plans.


• Act as a first point of contact for employee benefits questions, ensuring accurate information and guidance.


• Support annual open enrollment, plan changes, and employee education efforts.


• Collaborate with the firm's benefits broker to resolve employee issues and ensure compliance with plan requirements.


• Leverage understanding of self-funded medical insurance (applicable to medical coverage only) to assist in plan administration and employee communications.

HR Operations & Compliance


• Maintain employee records, HRIS data (ADP, Employee Navigator), and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.


• Support policy development, HR documentation, and company-wide communications.


• Coordinate performance management processes, including annual reviews, goal setting, and development planning.


• Partner with leadership on employee relations, ensuring fair, timely, and consistent resolution of issues.

Key Competencies


• Strong understanding of HR and benefits terminology, particularly around plan types (e.g., FSA vs. HSA) and self-funded structures.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.


• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment under pressure.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.


• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including direct involvement in recruitment, engagement, and benefits.


• Proficiency in HRIS platforms (ADP, Employee Navigator) and productivity tools (Google Suite, DocuSign, Canva, Adobe).


• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.


• Experience in financial services or professional services environments a plus.
