Job Description
Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Mentors and provides direction to junior employees.We are seeking a skilled Litigation Coverage Adjuster to join our team, preferably located in the Eastern or Central time zone states. This role involves evaluating and managing Homeowner and Auto insurance claims in litigation, with a focus on determining coverage under the policy. Candidates must have 3+ years of claims adjusting experience, including litigation and a strong understanding of insurance policies and reading coverage. This team handles Homeowners claims nationwide and Auto claims focused on the Northeast states.
Key Responsibilities
• Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle or understanding other potential property damage
• Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
• Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for the most complex cases
• Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
• Recommends process improvements
• Applies increased experience in the Sr Adjuster level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Total Loss, Initial Handler, Extended Handler, Litigation, etc.)
• For claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex/Catastrophic injury claims
• Handles investigation regarding all aspects of the most complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authority
• 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
• This job does not have supervisory duties.
Compensation
Base compensation offered for this role is:
Coverage Adjuster Cons II: $50,700 - $78,570
Coverage Adjuster Sr Cons I: $62,800 - $99,190
Coverage Adjuster Sr Cons II: $66,800 - $105,140
And is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) if applicable for the role.
