Position Title: Director of Development Operations

Department: Research and Development (R&D)

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director of Development Operations leads and mentors multiple cross-functional development teams.

Job Scope and Accountabilities:

The Director of Development serves as the operational leader of Kahua's software development organization. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day execution of development operations, ensuring that strategic roadmaps are delivered with excellence. This role partners closely with the CTO (who sets the architectural and technical direction) and drives execution across multiple initiatives including kAutomate, kConnect, the Kahua Network, AI-enabled features, and platform support for applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Execution & Delivery

  • Own the execution of the development roadmap, ensuring milestones are met on time, within scope, and at high quality.
  • Translate architectural direction and product strategy into operational development plans and deliverables.

Operational Leadership

  • Provide direction and oversight across all aspects of development operations including staffing, resourcing, prioritization, and process improvement.
  • Build and optimize engineering workflows, CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and release management.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security across platforms and applications.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing development teams across multiple product lines.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration aligned with Kahua's core values.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product and Customer Success teams to align execution with customer and business priorities.
  • Support the CTO's architectural direction and ensure development teams are enabled to deliver against it.

Strategic Impact

  • Serve as the voice of Development Operations in executive discussions, providing visibility into execution status, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development operations to support Kahua's growth and innovation goals.

Qualifications

Technical & Operational Expertise:

  • 7+ years in software development leadership, with proven success driving execution in high-growth SaaS environments.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft technologies (C#, .NET, XAML, MSSQL, REST APIs) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong background in operational excellence, process scaling, and delivery of complex enterprise solutions.

Leadership & Business Acumen:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing large cross-functional development teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an operational leader within a technology organization.
  • Skilled at balancing speed, quality, and long-term scalability.

Education & Professional Background

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (required).
