Position Summary:

Great Hearts Texas has a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position that will partner with our campuses, school leaders, faculty, and staff. This role will assist with the smooth and efficient delivery of HR processes, policies, and services. As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for Great Hearts Texas, you will play a vital role in managing and supporting the school's human resources functions. You will collaborate closely with school leadership, faculty, and staff to ensure the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the school's mission and values. This HRBP role is critical for fostering a positive work environment, supporting employee growth, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations, all of which contribute to the school's overall success in delivering quality education to its students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Visits the campuses and conducts HRBP 1:1's with school leadership and staff, acting as a trusted human resources business partner and confidant.

·      Responds to employee relations issues collaborating with the Senior HRBP and Vice President of Human Resources.

·      Partners with departmental school leaders, faculty, and staff to understand skills and competencies required for existing and open positions, aligning to job descriptions.

·      Serves as HR liaison for recruitment operations by partnering with the external recruiting vendor to ensure alignment on hiring needs, timelines, and candidate quality.

·      Monitors the recruiting vendor's key performance indicators (KPIs) and SOPs, tracks progress toward staffing goals, and provides updates or concerns to the HR Manager.

·      Performs routine tasks required to administer and deliver human resource programs including, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.

·      Provides guidance to campus/school supervisors and employees on performance improvement plans.

·      Supports professional development initiatives to enhance employee skills and competencies.

·      Facilitates and/or delivers HR-related and compliance training as needed.

·      Works with HR Manager to develop and update the Employee Handbook, HR policies, and procedures in alignment with school goals.

·      Ensures and maintains up-to-date and accurate employee records in compliance with all state and federal laws.

·      Generates HR metrics and reports for Senior Leadership to support data-driven decision-making and provides insights and recommendations based on HR data.

·      Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

·      Understands and has knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll, talent management, and employment law.

·      Maintains accurate employee records, including personnel files and benefits.

·      Performs other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager and Vice President of Human Resources.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience as an HRBP or similar role in an educational setting; K–12 charter school HR experience and classical education experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software and talent management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating recruitment processes, either directly or in partnership with an external recruiting vendor.
  • Ability to evaluate recruiting progress against established KPIs and SOPs
  • Collaborate with recruiting teams to ensure alignment with organizational needs.

Education and Experience:


• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred).


•  HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.


•  Minimum five years of human resource experience.


•  Minimum three years of payroll/benefits experience preferred.


•  Recruiting experience required (direct experience or liaison/coordination experience accepted).
