Quality Engineer

Twin City Staffing is seeking a skilled quality engineer to join a leading custom welding and metal fabrication company in Saint Paul, MN. This role focuses on maintaining and improving product quality, implementing quality control processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production and fabrication operations.

Location:
 Saint Paul, MN

Schedule:
 Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM start

Compensation:
 $80,000 – $85,000/year

Responsibilities

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and inspection processes

· Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive action initiatives (CAPA)

· Ensure compliance with ISO standards, AWS/ASME, and customer-specific requirements

· Support weld inspections, dimensional checks, and material traceability

· Collaborate with fabrication teams to address quality issues and implement process improvements

· Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and maintain quality documentation

· Train production personnel on quality standards and procedures

· Participate in internal and external audits

· Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and weld gauges

· Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in engineering

· Professional standing with AWS, ASME, or ASQ (highly desirable)

· Certified auditor experience for internal and supplier process audits

· Strong understanding of quality processes, statistical methods, and continuous improvement tools.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and standards.

· Experience supporting ISO 9001 and other international quality systems.

· Background in manufacturing and welding environments highly desirable.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP or similar ERP systems.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

· AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar certification

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) principles
