Join our team as a Receiving Clerk in Des Moines, Iowa, and play a critical role in our inbound logistics operations. We are looking for organized and diligent individuals to manage the accurate and efficient receipt of goods into our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly documenting all received items. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential for this role. You will work closely with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure smooth inbound flow and maintain inventory integrity. Safety is paramount in our operations, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE, is mandatory. This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic logistics environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies and report issues immediately.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming products as required.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and stocktaking activities as needed.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or similar role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles is a plus.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must wear required PPE, such as safety vests and steel-toed boots.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and efficiency.
