We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the warehouse. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, requiring a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trailers, move materials between various warehouse locations, and stock inventory.
- Conduct daily inspections of the forklift, checking fluid levels, tires, forks, and safety equipment, reporting any issues immediately.
- Accurately pick and stage orders according to pick lists and shipping schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and walkways are clear.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety regulations and proper PPE usage.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
