We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics facility in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing all goods. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our inventory is accurately recorded and efficiently moved into the warehouse. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong commitment to Safety.
Responsibilities:
- Receive all incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, documenting any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Stage received goods for transport to appropriate warehouse locations.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Ensure a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations and utilize appropriate PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Assist with inventory counts and other logistics support tasks.
- Occasional Lifting of packages up to 40 lbs may be necessary.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform light to moderate Lifting.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and following all established procedures.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
