Join our dedicated team as a Receiving Clerk in Richmond, Virginia! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to manage the intake of all incoming goods at our warehouse. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that all shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying delivery contents against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies, and reporting any damages. A commitment to safety and organization is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the quantity and quality of goods against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Inspect products for damage and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately document all received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Ensure all necessary PPE is worn correctly at all times.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Support overall logistics efficiency by ensuring timely and accurate receiving.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and WMS software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
