Our Chicago, Illinois facility is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse stock. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, requiring keen attention to detail and a systematic approach. The Inventory Control Specialist will conduct regular cycle counts, perform inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and manage inventory data within our Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will play a key part in optimizing stock levels, minimizing waste, and ensuring product availability for our customers. We prioritize a safe work environment and provide all necessary PPE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management within a fast-paced logistics setting and possess excellent analytical skills. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent tracking and data entry.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Process incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items to prevent damage.
- Generate inventory reports and analyze data for trends and improvements.
- Collaborate with other warehouse departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Exceptional analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Understanding of logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to safety standards and proper use of PPE.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
